City asking residents and businesses to conserve water

Last Updated 9/5/2024

The Olive Hill City Water Utility is asking our water customers to be mindful of their water use. The City of Olive Hill is under a water conservation notice at this time due to the drought situation. We are asking that our customers voluntarily restrict their water usage. Simple conservation tips include:- Bucket wash cars or boats , where possible -Avoid pressure washing houses, driveways etc.-Avoid refilling or topping-up swimming pools -If you do know you have leaking taps, fix them now -Flush toilets sparingly and check to make sure your toilets are not leaking - Cut your shower time down as much as possible.- Turn taps off when the water is not being used (while cleaning teeth, or scrubbing vegetables, for example). - Water gardens and lawns less frequently.Sweep driveways rather than hose them down.- Let the water utility know if you see anything that might look like a leak.
